Marvel set to release gay superhero

Spiderman creator and former Marvel Comics editor-in-chief Stan Lee is set to unveil the world's first mainstream gay superhero. The Sun reports:
High school basketball star Thom Creed hides his developing superpowers along with his sexuality.

Former Marvel Comics boss Stan, 86 — who also created the Hulk and the X-Men — will unleash the character in an hour-long TV drama being shot in the US.

I peeped the story on Bossip, which is hardly the most queer friendly Black blog on the internets. But bravo to Marvel. Crazy how science fiction seems to be the most permeable site for progressive politics and critiques.
